I asked Destin Marie Weldon - Captain 2006 - 2007 and Emily Jo Moore - Captain 2007 -2008 to lend a few words of encouragement. Here's what they had to say...

Wow, I can’t believe it is your first performance. I have heard nothing but incredible things about you all. I know the majority of girls are incredibly nervous, and that’s okay, I remember my first game, I thought I was going to throw up! I looked at all of the people in the stands and it seemed like they were just staring at me, waiting for me to mess up. Well they are not! You are going to look incredible to every single person who walks into that stadium. All they can see is how beautiful and talented you are. I know this summer you have been pushed more than you ever have in your entire life, but when you step out on that field tonight you will see that it was all worth it. The hours of sweating, the miles you ran up that stupid hill, the soreness, the broken nails, and the desires to kill Lindsey will not matter anymore. It will be you, the field, and your flag. That’s all that matters anyway. Perform with every that is in you! Do not let fear get the best of you. Keep your heads up and pour every bit of passion you have into what you do. I do not know if you have noticed, but Chelsea has the most beautiful guard that God has brought together. You are a team... encourage each other, feed off of each other, and most of all love each other. With every breath you take and every move that you make do it to the glory of God. Although I've only known most of you for a short period of time, I've already begun to see just how much you can accomplish when you set your mind to it. Remember when you go out on the field tonight, that you're not doing this show to impress anyone but yourself, so don't be nervous, this is all about you, and the way that YOU feel. So don't just run through it, get into it and enjoy it, there's no rush quite like a guard performance. So go out there and shine like I know you can, use the crowd's energy and just have fun.
